Attention: ASSDA is phasing out OASISS and phasing in NESSTAR as our means for
providing free online access to our most popular data sets.
As of July 31 2003
, OASISS will no longer be available.
You can find NESSTAR at
http://assda.anu.edu.au/analysis.html
or follow the Analysis link from our home page.
OASISS was developed to facilitate 'remote' online requests for recodes, frequencies and crosstabulations on variables from selected SSDA studies, without requiring the user to download documentation and data.
OASISS works as a web based interface (or 'front-end') to SPSS V6.12 (Unix), and the HTML forms used by OASISS have been designed to initiate quick (point and click) processing of analysis requests. No familiarity with SPSS command syntax is required; OASISS creates the SPSS syntax (or command) file for the user. However, experienced SPSS users can easily edit syntax in the command file if they wish to perform more extensive data transformations and/or to run the full range of SPSS statistical procedures.
The results (or output) generated by OASISS can be viewed in HTML format (immediately) and/or be emailed to the user, and are stored in the user's OASISS account for up to 21 days. First time OASISS users may obtain a free account by entering their email address and receiving an OASISS generated password. Both email address and password are stored by the system for future logins to the system.
To log-in, select a dataset from the list below, enter the email address that you registered, and the password supplied by OASISS, and then click on the "Log-In" button. (If you have forgotten your password, log-in using your email address and a blank password, and OASISS will email your password to you.)
NOTE: OASISS Version 3 is new software. Although we have performed tests on this new version, there may still be bugs. We appreciate any feedback on any problems you may encounter and we will try to resolve them as quickly as possible.
